ALIENS IN AMERICA' TO PREMIER ON OCTOBER 1
http://www.cwtv.com/shows/aliens-in-america/episodes
Justin Tolchuck (Dan Byrd, "The Hills Have Eyes") is a sensitive, lanky 16-year old just trying to make it through the social nightmare of high school in Medora, Wisconsin, with the help of his well-meaning mom Franny (Amy Pietz, "Caroline in the City"), aspiring-entrepreneur dad Gary (Scott Patterson, "Gilmore Girls") and his beautiful and popular younger sister Claire (Lindsey Shaw, "Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide").Although he's bright and funny, Justin is also shy, socially awkward and pretty much resigned to the fact that he'll never be one of the cool kids. Franny, however, is the kind of take-charge mom who micro-manages her family, and she's come up with a plan to help Justin: she signs up for the school's international exchange student program. Picturing an athletic, brilliant Nordic teen, Franny is sure this new friendship will bestow instant coolness on her outsider son. However, when the Tolchuck's exchange student arrives, he turns out to be Raja Musharaff (Adhir Kalyan, "Fair City"), a 16-year-old Muslim from a small village in Pakistan. Raja is thoughtful, responsible and wise beyond his years. To the Tolchucks and everyone else in Medora, he's also just about as foreign as a foreigner can be.

Malcolm X - Quotations
"You can't separate peace from freedom because no one can be at peace unless he has his freedom."
"Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today."
"I believe in Islam. I am a Muslim and there is nothing wrong with being a Muslim, nothing wrong with the religion of Islam. It just teaches us to believe in Allah as the God. Those of you who are Christian probably believe in the same God, because I think you believe in the God Who created the universe. That's the One we believe in, the One Who created universe--the only difference being you call Him God and we call Him Allah. The Jews call Him Jehovah. If you could understand Hebrew, you would probably call Him Jehovah too. If you could understand Arabic, you would probably call Him Allah...."
"For the freedom of my 22 million black brothers and sisters here in America, I do believe that I have fought the best that I know how, and the best that I could, with the shortcomings that I have had...I know that societies often have killed people who have helped to change those societies. And if I can die having brought any light, having exposed any meaningful truth that will help destroy the racist cancer that is malignant in the body of America then, all of the credit is due to Allah. Only the mistakes have been mine."
"When a person places the proper value on freedom, there is nothing under the sun that he will not do to acquire that freedom. Whenever you hear a man saying he wants freedom, but in the next breath he is going to tell you what he won't do to get it, or what he doesn't believe in doing in order to get it, he doesn't believe in freedom. A man who believes in freedom will do anything under the sun to acquire...or preserve his freedom."
"All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds."

PAYING TRIBUTE
Yahya S. Muhammad, The Famous Islamic Calligrapher of North America
The "Dean of Muslim- American Calligraphers†in The United States, Yahya S. Muhammad, returned to God, the week , May 1, 2007/Rabi II 1428 A.H. [may God admit him to His eternal Garden of Peace. Ameen] Sheikh Muhammad, a self-taught Arabic calligrapher, painter, and graphic artist, works were displayed in numerous art galleries and exhibitions over a 30-year career, culminating in exhibitions at The Adam Clayton Powell New York State Office Building, in Harlem, New York, and in a one-man national exhibition at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.
His expansive and rustic upstate New York studio was a highlighted and frequently visited retreat for fellow artists, friends, art aficionados, as well as international Islamic scholars, as Sheikh Abdullah Adhami of Damascus. Of Native and African -American ancestry, Yahya S. Muhammad's life and art reflected the mosaic Muslim struggle and experience in the United States, couched always in his signature motif of God's mercy, beauty, and singularity.
We are all made poorer by his passing, and we all send our prayers for comfort and patience to his family. Ameen.

PRINCE AMONG SLAVES THE AMAZING TRUE STORY OF AN AFRICAN PRINCE ENSLAVED IN THE AMERICAN SOUTH http://www.upf.tv/upf06/Home/tabid/223/Default.aspx
Plot Summary
In 1788 the slave ship Africa, set sail from West Africa and headed for America with its berth laden with a profitable but highly perishable cargo-hundreds of men, women and children bound in chains. Six months later the survivors were sold in Natchez, Mississippi. One of them, a 26-year-old man named Abdul-Rahman made a remarkable claim to the farmer who purchased him at the auction that he was an African prince and that his father would pay gold for his ransom. The offer was refused and Abdul-Rahman did not return to Africa for another 40 years. During his enslavement he toiled on the Foster plantation, married, and fathered nine children. His story also eventually made him the most famous African in America, attracting the support of powerful men such as President John Quincy Adams. After forty years of slavery, Abdul-Rahman finally reclaimed his freedom, but he defied the order to return immediately to Africa, and instead traveled throughout the northern states, speaking to huge audiences in a partially successful attempt to raise enough money to buy his children's freedom. Finally at the age of 67, and after raising funds to free two of his children, Abdul-Rahman returned to Africa, only to fall ill and die just as word of his arrival reached his former home of Futa Jalloo in present-day Guinea. Abdul-Rahman survived the harsh ordeals of slavery through his love of family and his deep faith as a Muslim.
